Put Your Foot Down and make a real impact for pancreatic cancer

Location Details

North Steyne, Manly Beach

UPDATE: Due to the impact of COVID-19 and in the best interests and safety of our walk participants, volunteers and partners, we have sadly decided to cancel the Sydney walk in 2021.

The Put Your Foot Down Sydney walk has been connecting the community for 12 years under the original Avner Foundation and is an important event for the pancreatic cancer community in NSW to unite while raising awareness and funds for pancreatic cancer.

As usual, the Iconic Manly Beach is turned purple as supporters walk in memory or celebration of loved ones and come together for support, all while raising critical funds for pancreatic cancer research.

The family and dog friendly walk is a flat 4km walk along Manly Beach with BBQ breakfast, activities for the kids, prizes for best dressed & highest fundraiser and merchandise for sale.

Join the national movement in 2021 and help advocate for more funding and action for pancreatic cancer.

Fundraise for people living with pancreatic cancer

Fundraising fuels medical research which is critical to improving outcomes for pancreatic cancer patients and their families. Your fundraising efforts provide hope to those impacted by the disease and drives our ongoing research program, providing Australia’s best researchers an opportunity to work towards a possible future without pancreatic cancer. Fundraising is also easy and lots of fun!

COVID safe participation

The health and safety of our participants, partners and volunteers at each walk across Australia is our main priority. We are committed to holding COVID safe events for all and will work closely with local council and state governments to comply with the regulations, restrictions and health advice at each event. Updated information on our guidelines and safety measures will be provided to all participants closer to the walk. You can see the latest COVID-19 information and advice on the NSW Health website.

On the day

There will be a variety of food and drinks available, from 8.30 am with a BBQ breakfast supplied and cooked by our long-time supporter, Beak & Sons.

Coffee will be available on-site so join us early for a coffee and BBQ breakfast. Activities on the day will be announced closer to the walk date.

The walking route is wheelchair and pram accessible.

We would love you to bring your furry four-legged friends and there is a prize for the best dressed dog.
